Loss

Our group lost someone yesterday. It was sudden. It was unexpected.  I may not have agreed with some things he did or said but he was still my friend in the end.  This loss is going to be hard on our area.

Throw well my friend.

Class List Updated

The Class page now is updated with the class from War and an updated scroll wording class.
enjoy!

From April to now, things have been in a flurry.    One, we had War to prep for so that meant having to re-clothe the girl.  All new garb was needed so weeks of sewing commenced. And I was teaching in the Scribal College which meant handouts.  Two scrolls were needed quickly as well.   Since War has been done, I've been on an embroidery project so less time for Calligraphy but I have been able to do a few for the Kingdom.  Here are some of results from this summer.

Calligraphy only.   Baronial Archery Champion . September 2017

Baronial Fencing Champion July 2017.  I call it the "Boop scroll"

Delving into the Past

My degree is in Anthropology of all things.  I fell in love with research and archival studies.   I have made the decision to spend some time researching Polish Archaeology.   The field of Archaeology is quite popular in Poland, sending may teams to Egypt and the Mediterranean. Work in Poland itself is plentiful but many of the articles are in Polish or not available online.

There is my quest.

I have found a path and I hope to bring to light to a land that is misunderstood.  So if you my nose in a book and I am deep in thought, that is why.

AKA the sinus infection from hell.  Always seems to happen.

But let me bring you up to speed.

1) I made art
2) I herald now when needed
3) my term as Backlog Deputy is done (5 years)
4) My daughter is now also my Belt Sister

So here is some art I did and I'll leave it at that.  More to come on a new technique in Calligraphy I am trying.

Next time I say I want to do the Pent, someone tell me NO

Its 3 days before Ice Dragon.  All my entries are "done" with the exception of the Documentation.  4 items, one doubles.

What was I thinking.

I will post them AFTER Saturday.

I doubt I will win any categories or any of the prizes but it was fun.

Some lessons learned that I can share now.

1) Its possible to do everything in like a month.
2) Never trust the recipe.
3) Saffron dyes everything yellow.

Planning and Prep

I got it in my head that I could enter the Ice Dragon Pent.  Now that my Retainer days are done (well mostly), I can focus on other things.  Like art and stuff.

I am reading a book - "The Good Wife's Guide" ..  basically a how to guide for a very young bride.   Here is my basic plan.. the items for the Pent will be based on the book..
1) Things she would have used
2) things she could have made herself based on direction from the book

It's late 14th century so I have options.  Fabric is ordered.  Image is a maybe.. and recipes are iffy.  I have a theme and I may just run with it.

Now for Documentation..  ah crap.
